The research projects of Bonns Christian Archaeology addresses the role of Christianity as a constituting factor for late antique, early medieval and Byzantine environments. Various aspects are examined, such as the staging and experience of sacredness in late antiquity and the early Middle Ages, as well as late antique and Byzantine sacral architecture. Other research areas are the history of Christian archaeology and archaeological textile research. There are also various fields research projects in Bonn.
